Depression Research Group

  The Depression Research Group is one of the many research groups in the Department of Integrative Medicine and Neurobiology at Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. Under the direction of associate professor Jin Yu, the focus of the group is on the etiology of depression in several depression animal models, as well as electroacupuncture (EA) treatments of depression. Studies include comparisons between EA-treated animals, sham EA-treated animals and other antidepressants treatment groups, to identify specific factors, which included hippocampal neurogenesis, neurotrophic factors, neurotransmitters, glia pathology and so on, associated with depression, as well as studies that focus on the possible mechanism of EA treatment.
